A short, and disappointed opinion piece.
Some scary stuff has been on my timelines over the past few days.
Rioting breaking out, because a child of 17 went on a killing spree, and stabbed and killed three young girls, and seriously injured two adults and eight other children after a dance even.
The 17 year old was wrongly reported as being from a boat, crossing the channel, from the continent, as an illegal immigrant Muslim.
Of course, a small fraction of people in this country decided that the way to make things better is to riot, causing untold damage to homes an businesses, spreading fear and hate.
I wonder, how many people who are born here also commit atrocities? Crime is not limited to other countries. British people are not without sin, when it comes to our going abroad. Just look up “Brits Abroad” and you will see countless tales of drunken thuggery, and British men ruining things for everyone.
It’s embarrassing.
No, it is not the same as a peaceful protest, and no, people should not have the right to behave like that.
Those who want “Are country back” (sic) should first look at what our country is. A nation of people who have settled here from all over the globe over many thousands of years.
If they love our country so much, why are they destroying the livelihoods of those who live here, both British by birth or otherwise? What good does that do? How does that help the situation?
I suppose all the goods that have been looted in the process will be donated to charities? And pigs might fly out of my hoohah.
They wave the flag of St. George around, spouting about being a Christian country, but I fail to see the Christianity in their behaviour. Besides, we are not even that, but a Pagan country originally, and St. George was not English either … the sheer moronic idiocy and ignorance just astounds me.
Never mind, as I saw someone else say earlier, it will soon be football season again, and these “good, upstanding, respectable” Christian British men will all be back in the pubs and the terraces with better things to do on a weekend.
Why can't people just be nice to each other?
What happened with the stabbing was dreadful enough. Why make it even worse with all this rioting and violence? It won't make anything better, and will just stoke the flames of hatred and division even further.
It makes me sick.
I am sorry, to anyone that has been affected by these complete arseholes. I hope that the world doesn’t think all of us British folk are like that. We are as disgusted by the thugs as everyone else.
